Walter Neill Huntzinger, 83, of Anderson died on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital following a brief illness. He was born Feb. 4, 1933, in Anderson to Walter H. and Esther (Teeters) Huntzinger.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elaine (Baxter); two children, D’Ahn (Chuck) Ackerman of Anderson and Doug (Terrie) Huntzinger of Lapel; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Warren (Nancy) Huntzinger of Pendleton and Ron (Rita) Huntzinger of Anderson.
Neill was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Neill; and a brother, Wendell.
Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 N. Main St., Lapel. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the funeral home, with Pastor Dewey Miller officiating. Burial was to follow in Brookside Cemetery.
