ANDERSON — Three students from Pendleton Heights competed at the bowling semistate Saturday, Feb. 1, at Championship Lanes in Anderson.

All three came up just short of advancing to state after rolling their low game of the series in the opener.

Senior Nick Squires threw a series of 186-211-197 for a total of 594, placing him 16 pins short of the cut line, which was 610 for the boys.

In the girls bracket, freshman Courtney Ferguson and sophomore Haley Brown finished their series strong, but a sub-par first game cost them a chance to advance.

Brown missed being among the 12 bowlers who would move on by just 10 pins after finishing her series with a 143-194-182 for a total of 529. Ferguson was further back after a 146-184-155 series with a cumulative score of 485.
