A single-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on State Road 9 south of Pendleton Pike ended with a car flipped on its side but its occupants safe. According to Pendleton Police Chief Marc Farrrer, the car was northbound when it went off the road and flipped at about 2:30 p.m. Farrer said the driver –19-year-old Abigail P. Martin, 19, of Shelbyville — indicated she fell asleep at the wheel. Martin and passenger Makenzie D. Higdon, 20, also of Shelbyville, were uninjured; both were wearing their seat belts.
