David E. “Dave” Huffman, 88, Cape Coral, Fla., formerly of Lapel, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Mary Ann Hatch Hope Hospice in Cape Coral following an extended illness. Born on November 28, 1928, in Anderson, to Earnest Leonard and Mary Elizabeth (Brockmeier) Huffman.

Survivors include three children, Sherry Warrum of Lapel, Cindy (Tom) Stephenson of Anderson, and David (Sandy) Huffman of Fishers; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; his significant other, Margaret Rowe of Cape Coral, Fla.; and a sister, Rosie Duffitt of Lapel.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Elizabeth Huffman Ruth; his wife, Lucille (Klinefelter); a brother, Harold Huffman; and a sister, Carolyn Huffman.

Visitation will be from Noon to 2 p.m., Friday, May 26, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 Main North Street, Lapel. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 26, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery where the Lapel American Legion Post will conduct military graveside rites.
