Robert D. “Bob/Bobby” Burmeister, 67, Curryville, MO, passed away June 24, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, St. Louis, MO, with his family by his side. Born to Bob and Norma Burmeister in Anderson.

He was raised in Markleville, where he graduated from Markleville High School in 1967. After graduation he attended Ball State University, joined the Air Force Reserve and served four years for his country. He married and started his family in Markleville.Bob retired from Guide Lamp Division in Anderson, after 32 years. The outdoors is where he loved fishing, boating and kayaking, along with old cars and car shows. But, most of all, he loved his family, granddaughters and great-granddaughter, Iris Star.Bob was a member of North Christian Church and UAW #663 while in Indiana.Surviving are his daughter, Krista Niemeyer and family of Missouri; grandchildren, Adrianna Burmeister, Merissa Wiles; great-granddaughter, Iris Star Burmeister; sister, Brenda (Sonny) Schott; brother, Brian Burmeister and Sheryl Stanley, Brandon and Randynn Burmeister; Aunt Faith and Uncle Jim Burmeister, Julie, Brad and Brennan McCord, Melissa, Doug and Payton Baum, Cathy and Gatlin Schott, Misty McCord; and special cousins, Beth and John Messal, Roger and Linda Creason, Penny and John Bixler; many nieces, nephews and cousins.Preceding him in death are his parents; grandparents, Jessie and Raymond Burmeister, Chalmus and Florence Creason; Aunts and Uncles Celanire, Oscar Bennett, Roy and Jamalee (Breeding) Creason, Keith and Marge (Nelson) Creason, Kay and Jim Taylor; cousin, Dick Creason (Vietnam), Bill Creason; baby Kevin Bixler and Stephanie and Deidre Burmeister.Bob’s burial was in Missouri.A Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, at the Hardy Building, Markleville, with Pastor Rick Schoeff officiating.Bobby’s family invites friends, neighbors, and classmates to join them for a time to remember, share, laugh and eat.
