PENDLETON–This weekend, a retired local pastor is asking for help in many ways to supply those in need of relief after the devastation of Hurricane Harvey in Texas.

“Bud” Probasco is collecting donations this weekend along State Road 38, just west of State Road 9 beside a semi-trailer donated by Syndicated Sales. He says he will be accepting supplies from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Behind the truck pallets are being filled with cleaning supplies, water, dog and cat food, Gatorade, diapers, and toilet paper that will be loaded into the truck and taken to Houston for distribution.

Trash bags, bug spray, batteries, blankets, first aid supplies, and flashlights are among the other necessities that are being accepted. He is also taking cash donations that will be used to supplement the supplies with those of greatest need.

In addition to the semi, Syndicated Sales is also providing the driver and the fuel for the trip. Probasco says he is in need of volunteers to help him pack the truck with the supplies.

“This is what it takes,” he said. “If everybody does a little bit, big things can get accomplished.”

He said 100 percent of all physical and monetary donations will go to the victims of Harvey.
