Jones, Magers lead Arabian cross country at Flashrock

CARMEL–The Pendleton Heights boys placed 11th and the girls placed 12th at the Flashrock cross country invitational in Carmel Saturday.

The boys meet was won by Indianapolis Cathedral with three runners in the top 15 and a team total of 66 points. The Arabians scored 232, just two points behind 10th place Ft. Wayne Snider.

Hinsdale won the girls competition with 73 points while the Arabians scored 328.

Two Arabians placed in the top 20 in the boys race as Milan Jones finished 18th and Caleb Martin came home in 20th. Freshman Sean Roan posted a 29th place finish for Pendleton Heights.

For the Arabian girls, the senior tandem of Christina Magers and Syd Parker continued to be the top two runners. Magers finished the race in 24th place and Parker placed 60th. A third senior, Grace Baer, finished 94th.

There were a total of 172 runners in the boys’ race and 152 in the girls’ division.
