Uriah L. Wilson, 29, of Markleville passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017.

He was born Sept. 2, 1988, in Plattsburgh, New York. He graduated from Pendleton Heights High School in 2007, and he attended Pendleton Christian Church.

Uriah was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served in Iraq and Afghanistan. He received lots of specialized training and completed a mission training forces in Mongolia.

He had worked as a special deputy for the Madison County Sheriff’s Department since 2012.

Uriah is survived by his parents, Larry W. (Heather) Wilson of Markleville and Louisa Austin Wright, Long Lake, New York; sister Lydia (Andy) Nelson of Pendleton; stepsiblings Antoine (Julie) Davis of Mary Esther, Florida, Chad (Taylor) Gemmen of Lafayette, Simon Gemmen of Cedar, Utah, and Rachael Gemmen of Anderson; grandparents Norman and Nancy Wilson of Noblesville; and nieces and nephews Zane and MaKaiya Davis, and Rose Gemmen. He was preceded in death by his sister, Laurinda Diana Wilson.

Services were conducted Wednesday at Pendleton Christian Church with the Rev. Michael Canada officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Disabled American Veterans.

Arrangements were entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Lahm Chapel.
