Lapel girls hoops controls Guerin

LAPEL — Lapel continued its winning ways on Wednesday, Dec. 20, with a 48-36 win against Guerin Catholic.

The Bulldogs have now won four of their past five and improved their record to 7-4.

Lapel took control of the game early and led 14-5 after the first quarter.

The Bulldogs extended their lead to 26-10 by halftime and were only outscored in the fourth quarter, 16-11, when the game was already all but technically finished.

Lapel got its usual scoring boost from senior Breanna Boles with 22 points. She also had five rebounds and two steals.

Junior Kylie Rich added 13 points, including two 3-pointers, and seven rebounds.

Sophomores Delany Peoples and Morgan Knepp had five and four points, respectively.

The Bulldogs played host to Sheridan on Wednesday, Dec. 27, and will travel to Plainfield on Saturday, Dec. 30, to close out the 2017 portion of the season.
