PENDLETON — Soccer season is under way for the Pendleton Heights High School girls and boys varsity teams.

Each squad conducted a preseason scrimmage against Bishop Chatard, where the girls finished in a tie and the boys picked up a win.

Helena Talbot and Taylor Fort both got goals for the Arabians, who finished the game with a 2-2 tie.

“We were missing a couple key players, but it was great to see some girls step up and play quality soccer in their replacement,” coach Mark Davy said.

The Arabians were set to start their regular-season play against Pike High School at home, Wednesday, Aug. 15.

As for the boys team, the Arabians came away with a 1-0 win in scrimmage play against the Trojans.

The boys team took a 1-0 lead from a Jacob Spires goal, and it ended up being all the team needed.

The Arabians controlled possession throughout the match, Davy said.

The Arabians were set to open their season today, Thursday, Aug. 16, on the road against Hamilton Heights.
