Arabian cheerleaders to compete for state title

PENDLETON — One Pendleton Heights cheer team has won a state title, and another will be competing for one.

Pendleton Heights cheerleaders will perform Saturday in the Indiana Cheer Championships, supported by the Indiana Association of School Principals, at New Castle High School.

Pendleton Heights will face Lowell, Jasper, Mt. Vernon, Greenfield-Central and Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger in the Varsity B State Finals. The Arabians are scheduled to perform last at 7:48 p.m. Awards begin at 8:45 p.m.

The cheerleaders will play host to a state finals showcase at 5:45 p.m. Friday in the auxiliary gym, before leaving for the football sectional championship game at Mt. Vernon.

Pendleton Heights won the All-Girl Partner Stunt Group state championship on Oct. 26 at Warren Central High School.

Members of the stunt team include Ferguson, Norton, Sebastian, Clark and Grant.

In the Junior High Large Division, Pendleton Heights Middle School finished third.
