PENDLETON — Pendleton FC 2010 girls travel soccer team finished its fall season No. 2 in the state (U11), with a first-place finish in Indiana Soccer League play and a Pendleton FC first — a separate tournament championship win.

During the fall season, the team accrued a 5-1-2 record in the league.

The league has seven teams that play eight games each.

Pendleton FC 2010 lost its first game to Batesville 3-1, and tied Indy Premier and Batesville 1-1 in the next two games.

It then won five straight games: 3-0 vs USAI; 3-0 vs. Indiana Impact SC; 2-1 vs. Hoosier FC; 4-0 vs. Indiana Impact SC; and 5-0 vs. Carmel FC.

League standings are based on a points system: 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie and no points for a loss.

At one point in the season, PFC 2010 was ranked No. 15 in the state at U11. Then the team won the Halloween Classic tournament, the first tournament championship win of any Pendleton FC team.

That win moved PFC 2010 to No. 4 in the state.

After being crowned league champs, PFC 2010 climbed two more spots in the ranking.

"I’m so proud of these girls for all the time and hard work they put in to being good teammates and good soccer players," Coach Mark Davy said in an email to The Times-Post. "Our program is focused on helping build the foundation for our players to not only be great soccer players, but also be great students and citizens."
