Pendleton - All school buses serving the South Madison area, including those from the Frankton-Lapel Community Schools and South Madison Community School Corp., have passed inspections and are safe to drive, according to school officials.
Frankton-Lapel Community Schools Assistant Superintendent Sterling Boles said the Indiana State Police used to inspect entire bus fleets in the summer months before school started, but the agency changed its inspection schedule.
“They changed their operation schedule and now inspect a third of the fleet at a time throughout the year,” Boles said. “We were inspected in February, March and April.”
