Pendleton - After some significant renovations, the Pendleton American Legion will unveil its newly updated façade to the public soon.

Post Commander Nancy McKechnie said volunteers from the local veterans club have donated hundreds of hours of time to help renovate the large log cabin, which was in need of attention.

“We started at the end of June and we just finished the last week of October,” McKechnie said. “We put out the call, and people came out and helped. If it wasn’t for all those volunteers, it would have never been finished.”

The Legion also had thousands of dollars of equipment and supplies donated from local business to help complete the overhaul of the structure, which McKechnie says now “pops” from the road.
