PENDLETON – Pendleton Heights opened its home football schedule Friday, Aug. 29, off a tough win at Muncie Central and facing an Anderson squad stinging from a blowout by Fort Wayne.
Anderson tried to beat the Arabians with big plays, but PH was more methodical — and in the end, more successful.
Three short touchdowns, including a pair of sneaks by quarterback Jarrod Hubble, pushed the Arabians past the Indians 19-7 as PH remained perfect on the young season.
The Arabians gave up several big carries by Anderson’s Tyler Welch, whom they eventually were able to contain. Welch, who scored on a 78-yard run, had 181 by halftime but just two in the second half.
