Pendleton - After a disappointing loss last week to Muncie Southside, the Pendleton Heights Arabians boys basketball team “exorcised a few demons,” according to coach Brian Hahn with two redeeming victories on the home court.

With Brogan Gary shooting 80 percent Friday, Feb. 1, the Arabians torched the Yorktown Tigers 68-31. After a 24-3 first quarter, it almost looked like the intense Arabian defense was going to hold Yorktown to just three points in the first half before the Tigers pumped in six more points to make it a 41-9 halftime.

“I thought our kids came out with really good focus,” Hahn said. “We really had it down throughout the game. We played well in each quarter.”

In the first half, Gary could not miss. He went five-for-five, including four 3-pointers. He was not alone. Levi Buck also was perfect in the first half, going four-for-four for 11 points. In total, the team shot 71 percent in the first half and 61 percent for the game.
