Pendleton - Mt. Vernon was not about to let the Arabians softball girls off easy, but the Arabians were determined not to let the game slip away, and came off the Marauder field with a 5-3 win May 2.
“This by far was our biggest game of the year,” coach Rob Davis said. All of those other games are big games, but this is for the conference.
Scoreless until the third inning, the Arabians took a 2-1 lead after an Elizabeth Sigler home run, but MV tied it up in the fourth inning when a Kyli Lyons double score Marauder teammate Rachel Davis. Mt. Vernon got the go ahead run in the fifth inning when an Arabian error allows a run.
“We tried to give this one away. In two of our three losses, we gave the game away where we outplayed them,” Davis said.
