Pendleton - A bill that would exempt military pensions from state taxation has been presented to the senate at the request of a local veteran.

Sen. Tim Lanane (D-Anderson) introduced Bill 264 after several discussions with a Pendleton’s Don Ellwood.

“My office has come to know Mr. Ellwood very well,” Lanane said. “He has been asking for a bill like to this be introduced for a long time. I don’t know if it will go anywhere or not, but I think that our veterans at least deserve the consideration, and that’s why I filed the bill.”
