Lapel - Had it not been for the recent poor weather, Lapel’s softball team would have had three games under its belt at press time.

The Bulldogs’ scheduled games last week against Alexandria, Hamilton Heights and Elwood all were postponed because of unplayable fields. Conditions permitting, Lapel will now open its season Thursday, March 28 at Frankton.

In fact, coach Scott Rich said his team has not been able to get out of the school’s gym to practice this spring.

“The girls are getting tired of being in the gym and are antsy to get out and play,” Rich said. “They were pretty upset that the games this week were cancelled.”
