Pendleton - The Anderson Police Department chased a theft suspect into Pendleton during the weekend, ending with the man crashing his van into a home and tree before feeling on foot.

Pendleton Police Chief Marc Farrer said the ADP contacted the Pendleton station at about 5 a.m. Saturday, March 2 to help with the “high-speed chase.

“The APD was in pursuit of a theft suspect,” Farrer said. “They chased him from (the) Ed Martin Dealership in Anderson to Pendleton.”

Farrer said the suspect, who has been arrested, was driving a Dodge Caravan and was suspected of stealing from the dealership.

APD’s Public Information Officer Joel Sandefur confirmed items were taken from Ed Martin Chevrolet/Cadillac.
