Pendleton - As members of the South Madison Community School Corp. Board of Trustees mull over which calendar to support for the 2013-14 school year, two schools within the corporation’s inter-local co-op who have recently switched from a traditional to balanced calendar are citing success, even without seeing ISTEP scores.
The SMCSC school board will vote Thursday, Nov. 6 on whether to remain on a traditional calendar, or switch to a balanced or modified balanced calendar next year.
The corporation spent several weeks looking into the balanced calendar last year, even playing host traveling discussions at each school campus, eventually deciding to stay with the traditional calendar despite all other schools in our inter-local co-op, which provides services to special education students, switching to the balanced calendar last year.
