Students to serve chicken, noodles
The Lapel High School Students to England 2013 group will be sponsoring a chicken and noodle meal from 5-6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, in the LHS Commons Area.
Adult ticket price is $7, student price $3.
This cost includes chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, a roll and a drink.
Desserts will also be available for purchase for $1.50.
This meal will take place before the boys high school basketball games with Frankton High School.
People may purchase tickets in advance from participating juniors at LHS, and tickets will be available that evening.
Profits from this fundraiser will go to help students pay for their trip to Europe in the fall.
Legion offers karaoke, dinner
The Lapel American Legion will have karaoke starting at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19.
Also, the Legion will prepare a spaghetti dinner from 5-7 p.m. Jan. 26. The menu will include salad, garlic toast, homemade meatballs, alfredo and dessert.The price is $7 for all you can eat.
Park board meeting canceled
The Pendleton Park Board Meeting for Jan. 19 is cancelled.
The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 20.For more details, call 765-778-2222.
PBA kickoff party planned
The Pendleton Business Association will conduct its 2012 kickoff party from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at the Wine Stable in downtown Pendleton.
Hors d’oeuvres will be served. Cash bar will be available.
Members as well as business representatives thinking about joining should attend.

Senior Café offers food, games
LifeStream services and the Pendleton Community Public Library conduct the Pendleton Senior Café at noon Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the Pendleton Community Public Library, 595 E. Water St., Pendleton.
Seniors 60 and older are welcomed to eat a hot, healthy meal for a suggested donation of $3.50.
After each meal, seniors may enjoy a rousing game of Bingo.
RSVP for each meal is required at least 24 hours in advance.

‘Friends’ Book Sale going on
The Friends of the Library book sale will take place through Thursday, Jan. 17.
The sale is open during regular operating hours for the library which are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.
Sale items include adult and children’s books, magazines, reference works, movies and music.

Donkey hoops FFA fundraiser
The FFA Booster club will host a donkey basketball tournament at 7 p.m. Jan. 19. The game is scheduled for Pendleton Heights High School Gymnasium and will help raise funds for the FFA Booster Club Scholarship Program.

Garden club to meet Jan. 21
The Pendleton Garden Club will conduct its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Jan. 21 at the Conservation Building in Falls Park, 520 Falls Park Drive.
The program will be “Hati Gardens and Flowers,” by Rob Fox, Pendleton Garden Club member.
Refreshments will be served.
