Summer meal program available


Free summer meals, funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and prepared by South Madison Community School Corporation Nutrition Services, are available to all children up at to age 18.

Meals are being served weekdays through Aug. 1, excluding July 4; times are from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Pendleton Christian Church, 1170 S. Pendleton Ave., or from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 a.m., at Ingalls First United Methodist Church, 301 N. Alfonte St.

Food served follows USDA nutrition guidelines. There is no application or proof of income needed. For more details, contact Lindsey Hill, SMCSC director of nutrition services, at (765) 778-2152.

PJBA breakfast, games open to all


The Pendleton Junior Baseball/Softball Association Breakfast with Champions is open to the public from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturdays at the Pendleton Sports Complex.

The concession stand serves breakfast items in the morning, and the organization welcomes cheering fans.

Groups may show their support as in years past by volunteering to help during the Champions games.

Legion has fish on the menu


The Pendleton American Legion Post 117 Ladies Auxiliary is hosting an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 13.

The cost is $8 and includes fish, fries and coleslaw.

Karaoke with Jason Bowman starts at 8 p.m.

The public is welcome.

Library plans ‘Donuts with Dad’


The Pendleton Community Library, 595 E. Water St., will conduct the annual Donuts with Dad program at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, in the Community Room.

Sam Bartlett will provide entertainment, making a fork float, napkins balance and paper expand. He will involve audience members.

Donuts, coffee and juice will be served to dads and children. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the library at (765) 778-7527.

This annual event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Membership to the Friends is open to all residents.

AMVETS arranges roast


AMVETS Post 26 has scheduled a hog roast for 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14.

The all-you-can-eat meal costs $7 per person and is open to those 18 and older.

Proceeds benefit AMVETS Post 26 Veterans Monument Fund. Donations accepted and appreciated.

PHHS cheer camp June 16-19


Pendleton Heights High School cheerleaders have scheduled a cheer camp for girls in kindergarten through ninth grade from 5:30 to 7 p.m. June 16-19 in the high school auxiliary gym.

The cost is $40, and each participant will receive a T-shirt.

People may register early at the high school or the evening of June 16.

PHHS alumni dinner June 21


PHHS Alumni will host a PHHS (including PHS and MHS) Alumni’s Dinner and Dance from 5:30 to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at the Chesterfield American Legion.

Dinner is buffet style served by Happiness is Homemade and the music is DJ Jazzey Jeff.

The cost is $25 per plate. Send check and registration information to PHHS Alumni, P.O. Box 92, Pendleton, IN 46064, by June 5.
