PBA to meet Sept. 25
The Pendleton Business Association will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 104 W. State St.
The association will discuss the group’s future focus.
The meeting will be a round table, open forum will focus on this question, “Are we a networking group or a visitors group, and how does the PBA membership as a whole feel about this?”
Lapel Garden Club notes
The September meeting of the Rural Garden Club of Lapel was a field trip to Sahm’s Restaurant for lunch and a visit to Allisonville Nursery. Eleven members enjoyed a class on miniature gardens and each tried their hand at making one.
Kent and Alice Williams’ pretty gardens on Woodward Street in Lapel were chosen for September “Garden of the Month.”
The October meeting will be at the home of Linda Whisman.
Local Tea Party to meet
The South Madison County Tea Party will meet at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, in the Conservation Building, Falls Park, Pendleton.
The guest speakers are former Madison County Sheriff Scott Mellinger (D) and current Elwood Chief of Police Sam Hanna (R), candidates for Madison County Sheriff.
Madison County Council member Rick Gardner will give an update on recent council actions.
There will be an open discussion of topics of interest.
Ceremony to mark roundabout opening
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be staged at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, to celebrate the completed construction of Madison County’s first roundabout.
Pendleton officials will join Indiana Department of Transportation personnel, contractor representatives and others at the State Road 38 roundabout intersection with CR 300W, located just east of U.S. 36/Ind. 9/Ind. 67 near Pendleton Heights Middle School.
Committee seeks ‘silver’ players
The Pendleton Heights Homecoming Committee is looking for members of the Silver Anniversary football team, players who graduated from PH in 1989 and played in the 1988 season.

The Pendleton Heights High School Homecoming parade will start at 6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 27, with the football following at 7:30 p.m.
Socks welcome on parade float
Outfitters Inc., a local non-profit organization with a mission to help provide clothes to needy children in the area, plans its Sock-it-to-Us 3 event during the Pendleton Heights High School Homecoming parade Friday, Sept. 27.
Outfitters will have a float in the parade and people wishing to donate new packages of socks are asked to throw the socks onto the float.

Library offers domino event
The Pendleton Community Public Library will play host to a Senior Train Dominoes Tournament from 1-4 p.m. on the fourth Friday each month in the Community Room.
