ANDERSON — The Madison County Drug Taskforce arrested eight people on Wednesday suspected of conspiring to distribute heroin to the Madison County area.
Police said they believe these people – including one Pendleton resident – are major suppliers of heroin to Anderson and other Madison County communities.
The Madison County DTF capped its six-month investigation into the heroin distribution ring from New York to Indianapolis to Madison County Wednesday night when police executed a search warrant in the 8400 block of Clear Water Lane Apartment building No. 2, Indianapolis, Indiana.
During the search, police found nearly 3 pounds of heroin and ½ kilogram of cocaine; the value of the drugs is estimated to be more than $250,000. In addition, nearly $100,000 in cash was found along with the drugs.
Authorities said they believe this investigation will have a significant impact with the enforcement of heroin narcotic sales in all the surrounding communities in Madison County, where narcotics were targeted for distribution.
