There’s been a lot of hoopla this week over Danica Patrick taking the pole for the Daytona 500 and her subsequent eighth-place finish in the race.
Patrick is NASCAR’s topic for the 2013 season, and we will see her in every promotion and hear her name a countless number of times. She hasn’t proven anything yet.
Staying out of trouble is the goal for most drivers in a restrictor plate race, and she did that, but listening to Darrell Waltrip and his cohorts, she drove the race of a lifetime. What about Kezelowski bringing his damaged car from the rear to the front?
Patrick never really proved anything during her stint in IndyCar other than the fact that a female can lead the Indy 500 and have the opportunity to win. She did prove that she is great at self-promotion.
