Pendleton - Looking to bring another event to the downtown area, Main Street Pendleton has teamed with Falls Park and is planning to host a parade that will make its way through the community.

“This will be our first Fourth of July parade in Pendleton,” Main Street Pendleton Board Member Rachel Christenson said. “My impression is that it’s the first July Fourth parade ever in downtown.”

The non-profit organization is seeking parade entries and said it’s open to everyone.

“The theme of the event is ‘veterans,’ but anyone can come be part of the parade,” Christenson said. “There will be a small entry fee to help defray costs of insurance.”

Christenson added that only political or commercial entries would be charged the entry fee and that school-related groups and non-profits would be allowed access for free.
