Ingalls - A trial date has been set for two former Ingalls Street Department employees accused of selling town equipment and pocketing the money.

The court date is set for Aug. 27, at which time Daniel Kincade and Duane Hammel will face D Felony theft charges.

Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings said he decided to file official charges against Kincade and Hammel because they have not made an effort to repay the money that allegedly was taken, even after they were fired in early 2012 and skipped exit interviews.

“If there was an opportunity to pay it, it probably should have been taken before these months passed,” Cummings said.
