Pendleton - Taylor Fiew kept up the Arabian tradition in diving as she won the Hoosier Heritage Conference title in one-meter diving at the conference meet at New Palestine High School Jan. 12.
Fiew scored 384.55 to take first place honors and scored 236.35 in the semi-finals. Five different Arabian girls have won the diving title in 12 of the last 14 conference meets. Also, the 400 freestyle relay team of Stephanie Achermann, Breanna Oaldon, Madison Kordes and Micalah Booher won first with a time of 3:54.44.
Moving up one slot from last year, the Arabians finished in third behind champion Yorktown and second-place Mt. Vernon.
Several girls also finished in the top six. Booher was third in both the 200 free and the 500 free. Kordes was third in the 200 individual medley and fifth in the 100 breaststroke.
Stephanie Achermann finished fourth in the 50 freestyle and third in the 100 freestyle.
Diver Kylee Lloyd was fifth in her finals. Rebekah Monnier was third in the 100 backstroke and also was a member of the 200 freestyle relay team that finished fifth. Other members were Katey Stout, Mason Mills and Oaldon.
Achermann, Stout, Kordes and Booher placed third in the 200 freestyle relay.
The girls host Mt. Vernon Jan. 17.
