Pendleton - The Indiana Department of Transportation recently awarded the contract for Madison County’s first roundabout to Anderson’s E & B Paving.

INDOT awarded the contract Wednesday, April 3, choosing the lowest bid of $1,284,325.

The roundabout will be located on Ind. 38 at CR 300W, just east of Ind. 36 and 67 and between the Pendleton Heights High School and middle school.

A ceremonial groundbreaking is planned for noon Friday, April 12. Construction will start this month.

“The groundbreaking will be relatively small,” said.

He said the project originally was slated to begin in 2012 but was delayed for a good reason.

“We held off so that the project could be started the same time as the sidewalk project,” Henderson said.
