Ingalls - The Ingalls Town Council is looking into ways to shorten response time and improve the Ingalls Fire Department in other ways.
Assistant Fire Chief Josh Caudill proposed a way to finance two newer firetrucks, including an engine and ladder, for about $250,000 at the town council meeting on Monday, Dec. 10.
Caudill noted that if he had sought to purchase a new fire truck, the cost would be in the $500,000 range.
Councilman Tim Green said the purchase of two trucks with payments and interest could have the town paying up to $350,000 during the next 10 years for ultimately two pieces of used equipment.
