Pendleton - Several Pendleton area competitors returned with medals from Columbus, Ohio recently from the Arnold Sports Festival. Students from the IronHorse School competed for two days in a festival that has attracted participants from the United States and around the world.

The festival offers events for 40 different athletic contests, but Ironhorse athletes showed their skills in tae kwon do.

In Olympic Sparring, Emma Caldwell, Micah McKinley, Parker Smith and Terra Weber took gold medals. Caldwell, Weber, Ava Conderman and Dylan Huckeby also won gold in Traditional Forms.

Caldwell again took gold in Open Forms, along with Smith and Weber. Weber took another two golds in Creative Forms and Weapons with the fan. Caldwell also won gold with the fan. Twelve students attended the event.

Watching the students go through their forms during class, preparing for another competition April 27 in Cincinnati, students ranged from very young to middle-aged adults, yellow belts to black belts.
