Lapel - Courtney Prater is so special to the Lapel community that 87 townspeople came to nearby Anderson University to see her play basketball last month, her mother wrote in an e-mail.
Though Prater scored 21 points and had 12 rebounds, her Hanover College Panthers fell 63-58 to the program of which she was a part before she transferred to the southern Indiana school two years ago.
“That was one of my best games this year, even though we lost,” Prater said. “It’s always fun to go home. It’s kind of like playing a high school game because everybody’s cheering for you.”
