Pendleton - The newly crowned Madison County champions faced a tough week in girls basketball. The Arabians dropped a pair of games Jan. 8 and 12, bringing their season record to 11-5.
Hosting ninth-ranked in 3A Rushville on Saturday, Jan. 12, the Arabians fell to Lions 59-48. After facing a 32-19 halftime deficit, the Arabians outscored Rushville 17-7 in the third quarter, but fell short in the end.
Kenzie Gustin led Pendleton scorers with 21 points, six rebounds and four steals, while Kiawna Cottrell added 13 points and 11 rebounds.
