Lapel - For the second time in four years, Lapel’s girls basketball team has started its season 3-0.
The Bulldogs followed up a 42-39 win at Alexandria Wednesday, Nov. 21, by dominating Scecina 68-40 Saturday, Nov. 24, in both the home and Indiana Crossroads Conference opener for Lapel.
It was a dominant day for the Bulldogs for the final three and a half quarters against Scecina, as Lapel pressed and forced 28 turnovers, and as a result gradually built their lead throughout.
Lapel broke out of a 6-all tie and outscored the Crusaders 29-14 the rest of the first half. The Bulldogs led 51-29 after three and went on to their second 28-point win of the year; they beat Anderson Prep Academy 67-39 in their
season opener.
