Lapel - Lapel girls basketball coach Kevin Brattain described his team playing at Bankers Life Fieldhouse at a “once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

Winning made it even sweeter for the Bulldogs Saturday, Dec. 8, as they ran past Cardinal Ritter 51-43 in the opener of the Hoosier Invitational basketball showcase.

Lapel captured this Indiana Crossroads Conference battle of unbeatens and improved to 6-0, while Ritter dropped to 6-1. The Bulldogs are 4-0 in the conference.

“That was a gut win for our kids,” said Brattain, who had to field a lineup of girls who either were banged up or hadn’t been feeling well.
