Lapel - A fire at an abandoned home in Lapel on Thursday, July 10, was quickly extinguished, but the incident remains under investigation.

Lapel Stony Creek Fire Territory Lieutenant Todd Sears said the fire was contained in short order once the department arrived on the scene.

“Between the storms and the house fire, it was a crazy day in town,” Sears said. “Fortunately the fire was out in about 10 minutes.”
