Ovid - A Madison County pastor will lead a 10-day tour to Israel next fall, and the public is invited.

Ovid Community Church Senior Pastor Keith Wooden and wife Delaine will depart Sept. 19, 2014 as leaders of a Holy Land tour.

In 2012, the Woodens received a Clergy Renewal Lilly Sabbatical Grant allowing them to follow Apostle Paul’s footsteps by touring Italy, Jordan, Israel, Turkey and Greece.

“I never imagined visiting Israel. I actually didn’t think it would make much difference in my understanding of the Bible. I was so wrong,” Wooden said. “Our trip opened up a completely new understanding of the historicity of our faith and the land it was born in. I never thought I would lead a tour group to the Holy Land.

“But doors have opened, and we will share the experience of the renewing power of walking in the footsteps of our biblical forefathers, but most of all in experiencing the footsteps of Christ.”
