Pendleton - Jennifer Rasnake, 18

Pendleton Heights High School

4-H Club(s) South Madison Odds-n-Ends

Parents: Greg and Cindi Rasnake

4-H projects, activities and awards:

I have been my club president for the past three years and I held the office as secretary in Junior Leaders last year; also, I helped with the swine show. I have received two awards (at the) state fair for my ceramic projects.

My projects for the past nine years have included photography, ceramics, scrapbooking, rabbits and consumer livestock ... and I have picked up along the way basic and miscellaneous crafts, foods, personality, child development, collections, wearable arts and junior leaders.

Youth activities (school, community, church, etc.):

I am very active in my church and youth group. I have participated in a walk for others for the past two years at my church to raise money for people that don’t have enough, and this year I helped with packing food for the organization Kids Against Hunger. At my school I am on the basketball team, in SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) where we go to the elementary schools and talk to the kids about the danger of drugs and bad decisions, and I am in FFA, (for) which I hold the office of vice president.

What are your hobbies?

My hobbies include hanging out with my friends, going to the lake to fish, swimming and playing basketball. I love to be at the fair during fair week and to see all the projects that everyone has done.

Watching the livestock judging always is fun for me because I love animals.

What are your future career plans and ambitions?

Once I graduate from high school I want to attend Indiana Wesleyan University to get my master’s degree in nursing. Once I get my degree, I would like to work in a hospital or a pediatrician’s office. Once I have a family, I want to get my children active in 4-H and the livestock.
