Local Legion to install markers for veterans

Pendleton - The American Legion in Pendleton has started installing PVC flag holders to serve as markers for fallen veterans in South Madison County cemeteries.
Chairman of the Board of the Mt. Zion’s Lutheran Cemetery Association Inc. Faith Burmeister said she recently was contacted by Legion officials about installing the markers at the cemetery in Ovid.
“This has been a lot of work for the guys,” Burmeister said. “Marking all of these graves is a very big job.”
