Markleville - The Markleville Town Council approved requests Jan. 14 for a zipline in the annual jamboree and portable defibrillators for police cars.

Park Board President Wayne Fox said he and board member John Holmes discussed the zipline proposal with owners of the event during a January trade show.

“He said he could be here Friday and Saturday for $3,000. It will be $10 a ride for the line that is 160 feet long and 40 feet (at its highest point),” Fox said. The Park Board will earn $1.50 from each ticket and the owner bears the cost of all insurance. The event is scheduled for the first weekend in June, Fox added.
