Markleville - The Adams Township Board of Trustees and the Adams-Markleville Fire Protection Board met Wednesday, Sept. 18, to address what the fire board president previously called a “state of emergency.”
During the meeting, Adams Township Trustee Melinda Padgett and the Board of Directors approved the application for a $400,000 loan for a new firetruck. The next step is to conduct a public hearing at 7 p.m. Oct. 8 at the fire station. Area residents have until Nov. 4 to file remonstrance if they disagree with the purchase, according to attorneys Mark Bennett and Steve Schuyler.
