Pendleton - Pendleton’s newest elected official is learning the ropes at town hall, saying her first few weeks have been “fun.”
“I’m the newbie, you could say,” Clerk-Treasurer Whitney Richwine said. “I’ve been here for a few weeks now learning the ropes.”
Sworn in at the June 5 council meeting, Richwine, 32, was chosen by a Democratic caucus to replace longtime Clerk-Treasurer Tim Ryan, who retired for personal reasons last month.
Richwine will finish the remaining two years of Ryan’s term and then be eligible for re-election in 2016.
“He had about a year and a half left on his term, which I will be finishing,” Richwine said. “Ryan has some very big shoes to fill, but I do plan on running.”
