Pendleton - The Pendleton Fire Department is set to receive a new, large piece of equipment in the form of a new rescue truck.

Pendleton Fire Department Chief Danny Gardner said the new fire truck should be delivered in the next few months, but that it’s taken years to bring the engine to the station.

“We’ve been specking this truck for five or six years,” Gardner said. “It’s taken quite some time.”

Gardner said that by summer, the new rescue truck should be ready for service.

“We’re expecting it to be here sometime in May,” Gardner said. “Everyone is starting to get really excited.”
