Pendleton - After a year of negotiations, the Pendleton Artists Society finally has the keys to a building it hopes to turn into a community arts center.

PAS member Tim Jacobs, who is also on the group’s building committee, said the group received keys to Pendleton’s old town hall last week.

“We’re just so excited,” Jacobs said. “We’ve already started working on the building.”

Jacobs said work started on the building — which has sat empty for several years — Monday, March 26, and that crews have been tearing out parts of the interior in preparation for remodeling.
