Pendleton - The Pendleton Artist Society will host its first juried art show later next month and hopes the event will help bring additional visitors to the community. The nostalgia-themed show will start accepting possible pieces July 1.

“We’re looking to challenge the artist,” PAS President Chris Berry said. “We wanted the artist to create something for the show based on the idea of nostalgia.”

The first juried show will take place July 12-13. The Fall Creek Gallery, located at 136 W. Water St, will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. both days, with an awards reception from 7-9 p.m. July 13.

Berry said the group, which is currently 42 members strong, is looking for interested artists to submit their work from 7-9 p.m. July 1.
