Pendleton - For Natalie McQuade, May 30 was more than just the last day of school at Pendleton Elementary School-Primary.
It was her last day at the school, too.
Principal and assistant principal at PES-P for five years, McQuade recently announced her decision to leave the school corporation.
“It hasn’t hit me yet,” McQuade said. “There have been these moments, especially when the kids have run up and hugged me goodbye, that have made me teary- eyed, but all the emotion hasn’t hit me yet.”
Assistant principal for one year and principal for four, McQuade said what she will miss the most is the community.
“It’s been truly wonderful here,” McQuade said. “It’s been a great part of my life for five years. I’ll miss the students, the parents and the teachers all so much.”
