Pendleton - Although not widely known about, Pendleton Heights has had a bowling team for a number of years, and they practice and compete on a regular basis like other winter sport teams.
Many schools in the state of Indiana have bowling teams, but because bowling is not an Indiana High School Athletic Association sanctioned sport, the teams are not allowed the advantages that sanctioned sports have. Despite that, the 12 teams in the area have a regular season that runs until mid January with sectionals toward the end.
John Talbert coaches the boys, and Nancy Peters coaches the girls with Lora Hite as her assistant. They do it without pay because not only do they love the sport, but they love working with the kids.
