Pendleton - While the outcome was not unexpected, the process probably surprised New Palestine as they took the win against Pendleton Heights 62-40 in the opening round of football sectional action at Pendleton Heights Oct. 25.

The No. 2-ranked Dragons came into the match-up undefeated and never had an opponent score more than 21 points on them throughout the regular season. The Arabians came into the match up with nothing to lose, everything to gain and a mantra of “Believe” that had been posted all over the school throughout the week.

“I’m depressed about the fact we lost the football game, but I’m proud of the team that they never quit,” coach John Broughton said. “They battled all of the way against a very good football team. They made us look bad on defense, but I thought our kids played hard.”
