Boys soccer win two matches on road last week
The Pendleton Heights boys soccer team got two wins on the road last week with victories at Muncie Burris and Marion.
Mac Miller and Brian Wolverton scored twice for the Arabians in the game, while Evan Dix and Tyler Collier also scored to complete the 6-3 win against the Giants.
Daniel Petry, Dylen Eby, Austin Kepner, Mateo Ortega and Collier assisted on scoring.
Sam Pickett had eight saves for the game.
At Muncie Burris, the Arabians handed the hosts a 7-0 pounding with Ortega, Dix and Wolverton scoring two goals apiece. Miller also picked up a goal. Ortega, Wolverton and Eby had assists.
The Arabian record is now 3-1-1. The team travels to Greenfield Central Sept. 3 and plays host to Hamilton Southeastern Sept. 5.
Girls soccer evens record last week
After losing the first two games of the season, the Pendleton Heights girls soccer team bounced back with two wins last week to bring their record to 2-2.
On Aug. 29, the team hosted Centerville. The Arabians held the Bulldogs to just one goal in the game, winning 7-1.
PH’s Shelby Fort and Neeli Kasdorf scored two goals in the first half. They were assisted by Emily Church and Hannah Watts.
In the second half, Fort scored again and was assisted by Sydney McCullum. Bailey Bond, assisted by Kayla Siefken, scored in the second half. Also scoring for the Arabians in the second half were Kirby Barger, McCullum and Watts. Assisting with goals in that half were Abbi Green, Darby Goyer and Watts.
On Aug. 26, the girls traveled to Blackford High School where they came home with a 2-1 win.
McCullum and Fort scored for the Arabians. McCullum was assisted by Fort and Fort was assisted by Watts.
Goalie Sam Hammel was credited with 13 saves in the game.
The Arabians travel to Chatard Sept. 4 and Shelbyville Sept.10.
